Opinions on the Evoque?
Discussion
I followed a 3 door Evoque to work today and have to say it is a very good looking car indeed. It is also relatively small for what it is.
I am really not a lover of 4x4s other than the short wheel base landie but I have to say I really like the Evoque.
No idea how it may drive but it looks smart. Don't they start at sub £28k too? Still a lot more money than I would be willing to spend but seems reasonable for a Range Rover.
Interested in opinions.

When I first saw it I hated it.....
But the design is growing on me, although I much prefer the lines of the 4 door. If I was looking to spend circa £35k on a 4x4 I'd definitely be heading to my nearest Land Rover dealership.....
Where I would purchase a low mile Discovery 4 or, alternatively, a Range Rover TDV8 Vogue.

Nice, I have to say I could never justify spending that much on a new one still in a few years time they will probably be quite attractive in the second hand market. As 4x4s go it's a great looking car.
I'm not sure how it'll date as time goes on, but here and now I reckon it's a great looking car. Plus it offers exactly what most premium SUV buyers really want - kudos, luxury and decent on-road manners.
With the Evoque - and even the top end versions of the Freelander and Disco - you have to wonder if the majority of buyers would actually gain anything (other than prestige) from a £63k+ Range Rover.

Had a ride in one as my brother (who's a local motoring journalist) had one for the week.
Its much nice inside than say a Freelander 2, borrowing some of the bits from the Jag XF, such as the control that raises out of the dash for the Satnat/computer. It doesn't have the same feeling of light and space as other 4x4's, with the highish line of the windows.
His was a top spec diesel, it had a pretty good turn of speed for what it was, but with the options applied, it was nudging £40k. My opinion, I would be spending my money on one, but my brother reckoned he would have one.

The range is on another level. If I could.....I would. People who have the money and want the best buy RRs. It's a fact of life.
