EBC are fantastic for pimping your ride but that's about it - good quality OEM pads are probably as good and if I recall correctly EBC pads have a horrible mu vs temp curve and give poor pedal feel.

Are the brakes faulty, worn out or some other issue or are they just for pub bragging points .If you simply need replacements use oe parts and save your self money, if you want to be a track daystar simply buy a track daycar with the proper bits on it and spend a fortune Or just send me your money and I'll spend it on some thing sensible!! bye for now

Ebc are a good upgrade over oe on some cars. What car is it I have used the grooved and dimpled discs and yellowstuff pads on a MX5 used for roadrally and track and they have been great.
On my Honda civic ive used green stuff with std discs and they are good too, on my 540i Tourer they are good too .
All in all my expearience has been positive good braking and feel.
Ishould add that to improve the feel i find fitting goodridge hoses in stainless is the best way forward that and regular brake fluid changes.

tbh i wouldnt bother with ebc, we had a set of ebc yellow stuff pads with ebc discs and we managed to cook them at the ring, changed them for mintex racing and i have to say there was a noticable difference and they are still on the car with no problems.

What were they like on the road because I don't want pads and discs that only work when they are hot because I won't just be on a track it will be used in town and fast roads

I would suggest green or yellow for harder driving its a fairly light car, yellow dont take a lot of warming up so i find they are fine for street use.

Ferodo Premium (Premier?) discs and pads - DS2000 if you need very fast road/track day capabilities.
Couple with HEL/Goodyear braided hoses, and Motul Dot 5 fluid (RBF600 if you want the absolute best) for a better than OE set up.
Limiting factor will still be the tyres and suspension, no matter what brand or expense the pads & disc are.

My personal opinion is EBC are great marketeers of a middle-of-the-road range of products.
Do any race teams (BTCC, Formula Renault, etc, etc) run EBC kit?
I suspect what's fitted won't necessarily be what's emblazoned on the bodywork in the form of sponsorship stickers, if what I know about oil is replicated on the braking side too.
