I'm looking to change jobs soon and I'm pretty sure I'll be going back to a company car. I fancied something a little different (rather than the obvious 3 Series, A4 etc etc) and the new Alfa GT has caught my eye. It would probably be the diesel version. I was wondering whether anyone has one yet and if so, what do you think of it?

Driven the 2.0 and the 1.9JTD.

The diesel is not bad, cloth seats are awesome

Handles well, looks ace, goes sorta fast

None come back into the workshop yet

Fair enough!

I'm not expecting it to be blindingly quick. I want something that is (sort of) practical as well as being a little bit different. I'm not worried about going on track (new Elise will be looking after that ). I suspect it will be spending most of its time on the motorway.

The 18" wheels look fab aswell - I know they won't do anything for the ride, but who cares - I doubt it will be as firm as my Scoob on 18" wheels and slightly lowered suspension

Just get the 3.2 and have done with it

or a 156 2.4 JTD 20V Multijet 175BHP if you much go for a diesel

Oh alright

I would love it if they put the bigger diesel in the GT. Can't see why they don't - given the popularity of big engine diesels now.

I think its to keep the 156 as a flagship.

Probably right. I was speaking to my local Alfa dealer about this and he said all the UK dealers are requesting the bigger engine for the GT, so hopefully, if they could show enough interest, it will happen
