Is this Millipedes judgement day? He was elected on the back of his support of the unions, will the Labour party realise their mistake now?

I bet David is laughing his socks off!

Oh how sad what a shame.

rofl

"The Labour leader faced a rough ride from delegates at the TUC conference, where he delivered a keynote speech...Mr Miliband was also barracked as he praised the difference academies had made to education in his constituency."

The people who think they paid a piper are clearly pssd off at not calling every tune.

It may be subjective, but as i watched the news reports of the TUC conference, they looked finished to me. Flat earthers, talking flat-earth stuff ina newly found globe-shaped landscape.

Ed Milliband is surely the Conservative party's secret weapon?

He's David Milliband's secret weapon.

The problem is, he's screwed it for them both. The Labour Party can hardly kick him out of the post and then say 'whoopsy sorry about that, let's get the right Milliband this time.' Ed has effectively killed brand Milliband as now David looks like a loser and Ed looks like a shyster who'd kill his own Granny. I honestly believe that he never actually thought he'd win; you could see it in his eyes at the leadership election just before his victory was announced - he was sh@tting himself.

It was great to watch though. Labour had just spent three years sitting on its fingers watching Brown crashing and burning and wondering how to get rid of him. Then Brown goes, finally and they elect Ed! You could just picture Tony Blair sitting there with his head in his hands watching all those years of courting Tony's Tories going up in smoke.

If Ed goes, which won't be until he's lost the next election then it'll be Ed Balls' turn and that'll be when the fun really starts!

Labour have a sever lack of talent at the moment. Dave was their only viable option, but he seems to have lost interest now, so it'll be interesting who they can push to the front in the next couple of years. I don't know enough about the Labour party to see a contender, but they must have someone there who's not associated with their disastrous past, and is eloquent and intelligent enough to contend for leadership.

At the moment they are as imaginative as a poor tribute band.

laugh

Even though the younger guys on here may not get that, I literally LOL'd at it.

Unfortunately though, I'm with Castrol Craig, even with this fkwit in charge they are dangerously close to getting back in. If the Tories continue to fk things up and ps off what would normally be a core for them (the armed forces, police etc) then they have no hope. CMD is a light weight and a green in a blue tie.

I genuinely worry that Millipede has a chance, not through his own ability, but through the complete inability of the current lot.

This is the unfortunate truth of the matter. I really wish the voting public would actually choose who they vote for rather than deferring to whatever dogmatic beliefs they might hold but the chances of that happening are pretty slim.

He (or his writers) made sure he was going to get booed by the TUC. It was by design.

He knows he is viewed as too close by the public at large so a simple way to appear to put distance between them is to write a speech that would guarantee boos and appear on all the major news channels.

It's pure political positioning. Nothing has changed between Ed and the Unions-they both need each other.

This is nothing like Blair at the WI which was unexpected and hilarious.
