2006 vito dash computer display problem?

I bought this 2006 vito with 145k 2 months ago for a bargain price of £4600 and its had a few issues sorted such as ABS fault, brake pads replaced, replacing bits of wonky trim etc
Just got to sort the minor rust spots now.
only one thing is puzzling me now!
I have a problem with my dashboard computer, It works nice and bright on the LCD display when I start up but it fades after a few miles to the point I cant see anything on the computer display! So whats wrong with it and what can I do to fix or replace it?
