Removing laquer overspray?

I did a repair on the underside of my MX recently and was pissed off with myself to find a gap in my masking of the upper body. Essentially the laquer has oversprayed and left a dull powdery finish (although its not a powder, it doesnt wipe off)

Whats the best way to get rid of it and back to a nice shine?

Clay bar? Failing that a light cutting compound will sort it no problem.

Follow the instruction on the pack. If you but Bilt Hamber clay (& you should) you can simply use water as a lubricant.

The Meguires one I used did a great job, you will not stop touching the paintwork after doing it(or I'm a sad tt!).

I'm the same after doing a nice machine polish & seal, you just feel you have to stroke it (then you feel the paint) LOL.

Then polish it again to remove the finger prints, then stroke, then polish etc

Well after what seemed like an eternity going over it with a meg's clay bar it hasnt dont anything!

Well, the rest of the panel looks great, but the overspray didnt budge.

So what should I try next? something more agressive?

Meguires paint cleaner will shift it.

IIRC the Megs bar is not very agressive at all. You can get different grades, but maybe a paint correction compound is the way forward. It may be worth asking on Detailing World (Google it)
