Accident at clackets I have been stationary for the best part of an hr on the m26. Avoid if you can.

On a side note I know its been discussed at length on these forums but surely there has to be a way to stop or dissuade retards such as todays from having accidents? Maybe a huge fine or having restrictions put on their license for 6 to 12 months....

Thanks, I'll make a note of that when nipping home at lunch time. In Antrim, Northern Ireland.

This thread brought to you by "UK only consists of SE England".

When watching programmes on Aussie and NZ cops they seem to have a specific offence of loosing control of your car. I was watching once and a guy lost the back end of his car coming round a bend, totalled the car and the barrier then had a charge of losing control (or something like that) of a vehicle added to his woes.

A Chinook should come along with a magnet dangling and clear the wreckage.

Its mad how long 'the authorities' let major roads stay closed.

If you are investigating a fatal or possibly fatal accident, it's important not to just sweep the mess under the carpet.

It's called collision investigation. Would it be better if the Police let everyone drive on and drew short straws to see who was at fault?

Hope your engines is off, keys out and flung into the verge otherwise you're using a mobile whilst 'driving' and, by extension, a child killing sociopath wink

More seriously, hope you get moving soon.

Wasn't Lewis Hamilton done in Australia just for letting the back overtake the front?

The AA website said:
M25 clockwise between J4 and J5
On the M25 clockwise between junctions J4 and J5, there are currently delays of 10 mins caused by congestion due to an earlier accident. Normal traffic conditions expected from 12:30 pm.

confused Not quite sure what your point is. It is a relevant post to many people on here. Equally, it would be just as relevant to other people if the thread title said "M8 Avoid" or "Farm Track, Antrim Avoid".

For a number of cars travelling around it doesn't happen that often, but still when it does it's a pain. I would surely start with overturned lorries which rightly suggests irresponsible idiots driving these cars in a race-like manner.

You're right. Overturned lorries are clearly because the drivers have been driving the cars wrong.

If they're still alive then should be rushed to hospital.
Otherwise, why does it take hours to sort out?

As said above, accident investigation...

It's a royal ball ache, but it needs done.

I remember folks in Edinburgh when a kid was taken out in a hit & run, half the city was in gridlock for hours as a result. As I say - right ballache, but rather necessary.
