London Romantic Hotel
Discussion
I am looking for a nice hotel to take a good lady away to London.
For her she would like to do some shopping, I believe Selfridges was mentioned. For me I have to go to the house of commons. So needs to be somewhere in this kind of locality.
Looking for a couple of nights, for a 3 day trip. Budget is approx £500 for the 2 nights, ideally less.
Any recommendations?

Threadneedles Hotel on, surprisingly enough, Threadneedle Street is absolutely lovely.
About 2 miles from Parliament and 3 miles from Selfridges. It's also about a 2 minute walk from Bank tube station.
If you're going for a weekend then the area's relatively quiet and if you book through LateRooms or someone similar you should come in about a ton under budget.

Strangely enough I saw the title and was going to post about Threadneedles too. Stayed there a couple of weeks ago, £147 a night through the secret hotels on lastminute.com Look for a hotel description that talks about St Pauls and the Thames or google 'last minute secret hotel descriptions'.
Very nondescript from outside - you could walk past without realising it was there quite easily but a beautiful glass dome once you step inside.

you could try Number 5 Maddox Street.
Just off regent street, it has large rooms/suites but few hotel services, so you get a great room for the price.
rubbish room service, but loads of restaurants, cafes and bars within 5 minutes.
You should get a reasonable suite for that money.
