I was wondering at 20 years old, is it even possible to get insurance on a Supercar such as a Murci.
Not that im looking at buying one, but there is the possibility of the use of one.
Are there any Specialist insurers or is it way too big a risk.

Cheers

At a guess I'd say around 8 grand for you to insure 1.

And the rest, I had a higher quote than that on a Panda

There are ways and means but the (relatively) affordable ones will depend on the owner being able to insure you on their policy somehow. Even then I don't expect it will be cheap - but it MIGHT be 'affordable'.

You taking insurance on your own behalf on someone else's £150,000 asset will be brutally and unrelentingly costly - like you could buy a few nice cars and have change left over...

£3238 quote here (from Bell) for an LP640, at 23 with 6 years driving and 0 NCB (although thats with parents as named drivers (often helps!), £5145 on my own...) - pretty reasonable I think.

Not only is it highly unlikely an underwriter will write a policy for a 20 year old on that car, the ownership and insurable interest will dictate a no as well. I assume the vehicle is already insured under a seperate policy?

If you aren't the owner of the car (or at the very least a parent) then Admiral wouldn't cover as no insurable interest, also the starting age for a car like that would be 21 IIRC.

Nice friend, the insurable interest will be a major problem even when you're 21.

I would suspect an offer based on thee premise you couldn't possibly insure it and if you could, one that would melt away.

Haha, think how surprised i was when he suggested it out of the blue. Im guessing he thinks its safer with me than it is in his Empty Houses Garage for a year.

Personally, I wouldn't want the responsibility. Imagine taking it out and kerbing a wheel or scraping a wing in a McDonalds drive through or something, the repair costs would be frightening.

Will OP be paying for the service, repairs, tyres etc while he is using the car? I think it's a great fantasy, but if I was trusted to look after a friends supercar, I'd keep it safe and clean, and save my money for my own cars.
