Garage shelving
Discussion
Can anyone recommend some good shelves for in the garage? Need to be able to hold car parts etc nothing too heavy the sturdier the better...
Looking for something like this, has anyone bought this kit?

I bought a load of shelves from Big Dug who are the company in your second link and have had no problems after 3 years of pretty heavy use. Recommended. If you order by 'phone they seem to have some space to haggle as well e.g. single shelf at the 5 off price or something like that.

These look similar to the Big Doug items

Its what I have in my garage and I've been very pleased with them to date.

In a rare foray into Homes & Gardens, i thought I'd chuck in another vote for costco.
I bought 3 packs of their industrial racking, arranged my own configuration, 2 lots of 5 shelve units, and 2 lots of 3 shelves (using the floor under 1 of them).
They clip to each other and are absolutely rock solid.
Great purchase

any pictures/prices on the costco units?
Type 'Costco shelves' into google images. The chromed one in the second picture is about £70 in my local costco I recall. Looks pretty chunky.Saying that, that picture is from a website saying they are dangerous!. Mine hasn't fallen on me yet...

I'm sure they were only £50 per unit, they had a more expensive (industrial) version which was £110 I think, but thought the £50 one was fine, and it certainly was.So the 3 cost me £150, bargain at twice the price.
I thought I had pictures here, but can't find them, so will have to wait until I get home, unless someone beats me to it.
A quick google shows these are the very same shelves: http://www.marktighe.net/2011/03/costco-shelves.ht...
Although I've got 3 lots of them.

Hmm they look to be about 30cm deep judging by the guys boots!
Where as you can get 3 45cm deep ones from bigdug for around £120+del
So about the same price but for more space?
Dan
Interesting observation, but I'm sure they're more than a foot deep! :SWhere as you can get 3 45cm deep ones from bigdug for around £120+del
