cheap new (used) bike
Discussion
i decided that i realy need to do a bit to try to get fit, so i went out and bought myself a used bike

one of those.
a cbr black canyon mountain bike. i paid the grand total of £50 of our queens pounds for it, to a friend of mine that had bought it new, used it once and put it into his shed to be forgotten about.
i haven't been on a bike for many a years now,so i dont know if its fear or excitement about a run out tomorrow, just need to adjust the seat and the back spring.

as i say,its only to try to start me off on the path of greater fitness, if i enjoy it i will invest some real cash into a more 'ph' type bike, but i have to see if getting out of my car is something i can get on with again after the many, many years of total inactivity.
As oft stated, all that pos will cause is an intense hatred of bikes. If you wanted a car to get you enthusiastic about driving would you buy a tata nano?sportka1 said:

There is a danger that this will put you off cycling for good.I hope I am wrong and you enjoy riding it. You don't need to spend more than £50 to get a good second-hand bike, but a £50 full-susser is likely to be weak.
I think that is exactly the same frame/bike as the Dunlop disc 26 I got from sports direct, brand new for £50 delivered.
I knew it would be dire but as a hack for going places and leaving outdoors and not being bothered if it was stolen it was a no brainer.
To sum up the attributes of said bike.
it has a weight almost equal to the planet Jupiter.
the components are all cheap and nasty and all just about do there job.
its very heavy
the paintwork is just about ok
it is a heavy machine.
to be fair it has survived about 8 months of fairly regular road use but I get the impression it would implode and create a black hole if shown some off road......oh and it is a really heavy bike
