I spotted a deal this morning that looked like good value. I'm not sure I'd be booking a prestige car in, but for a quick shed service and clean you couldn't go too far wrong.

They say... "Full 53-point service plus a car valet on any make or model of car, 2 hour turnaround, free wifi and refreshments, free pickup and drop off within five miles, for £69"

It's at the Infiniti Centre so they should be used to working on prestige cars...or perhaps not as I don't know if anybody has bought an Infiniti or even knows they exist!

I assume the offer is on as they may be very, very quiet - very few owners + good reliability = a very quiet service dept.

Well I hate to sound like I'm raining on someone's parade, but as another motor engineer of some experience, let me advise you to ask yourself this: how in the name of god can anyone do that work PROPERLY for 69 quid? I mean, think about it. They have to involve the reception team, the mechanics in the workshop for at least 2 hours, the service manager, the valet team, and 2 drivers to deliver it!! Then there's the fuel for their delivery vehicle, the broadband line for your WIFI, oh, not forgetting the coffee!

There are only 2 answers. Either it isn't done properly or it's a loss leader to get you in the door, and then they let you know that half the components on your car are falling off, (even though they aren't), but they can fix them at only £115 an hour plus dealer parts plus 20% vat!

I really hate this kind of crap!

Nice pics Martin, but to get back to the point, how do they do it properly for that price?

By the way, who are "our guys"?

I think you answered yourself above, a loss leader. Even assuming it's a basic service if they're servicing a car that needs a fair few litres of expensive fully synthetic oil plus a filter that will eat up a big chunk of that £69.

They'll know a percentage of the cars may 'need' brakes, tyres, wiper blades etc etc which can all be added on to make a bit of money on.

I can't imagine it is anything other than a loss leader.

I didn't realise when I posted it up, that it was the Infiniti dealer. Some of the opportunity for them willl surely be getting potential buyers into their showroom who otherwise wouldn't know about Infiniti.

They are a new dealership in fact there are quite a few Infiniti dealerships popping up around the country.

As has been said is a loss leader. The cars arent very well known so its a matter of getting people through the doors.

This dealership popped up on the 350z-uk forum and offered an open day to the members. The feedback was pretty good.

makes sense though. new deaership isnt going to have a large customer base and will still have all the tools and staffing. So may as well run at a loss and gain potentia new customers than everyone standing about doing nothing.

Infiniti Glasgow is a great dealership. Im a friend of the manager there and the the guys are really nice as well, and true, they sell pretty nice cars. They had a C63, 2x Conti GT, X5, Brabus CLS & more. Their service centre is good too as far as I know wink
