Now this has happened before, I thought it may have been a one off, but alas no, people really are dumb.

I was at the local Shell station yesterday, filling the G1 Insight up with petrol & this chap walks over to me & says "is that one of those electric cars"?

At this point I'm gobsmacked, all I can think to do is look at the filler nozzle in my hand, look at him, look at the nozzle again &, whilst stifling back a laugh, say "yes it is", "thouht it was he responds.

You have to check the colour of the nozzle carefully, I filled my petrol car with electricity once by mistake.

Ha ha, there was someone on here not that long ago ranting and foaming at the mouth because Prius drivers were causing blackouts and electricity shortages or some such st.

He honestly believed that people plugged Priuses into the mains at night.

Electric/hybrid same thing in many peoples eyes I'm sure. Not a leap to grasp that's what he meant?

This is PH though where every opportunity to look down and deride someone must be taken

I do wonder why some on here is so angry all the time, I can't help thinking that it's because they're not 'getting any' biggrin

Surely a much nicer answer to the gentleman would have been to say that it's a hybrid with both an electric and petrol engine.

It seems a bit harsh to call the fellow dumb for showing an interest in your car.

To be honest the Mk1 insight does look like it has fallen out of the future

Better than "Oi Wannnnnkerr, st car" which I beleive is the correct greeting for Prius/Insight drivers from the general unwashed.
