Rollercoaster, I guess?

You're into specialist territory, as any road tyres simply don't permit enough power (for a given weight and thus grip level) to be transmitted quickly enough to do it.

Yup Thorpe park Stealth

Well done you.

Used to be 2.8 but they uprated power and stripped the weight of the trains.

Just really want to know how it compares to f1, fuel dragsters etc

I understand that an F1 car will do 0-100-0 in five seconds, so you probably experienced something on a par with an F1 car's acceleration, maybe a little quicker.

Ah, I'm glad you said that. After I posted that I double checked and it said <2 seconds. I then checked more and lots of places quoted different times.

That they've actually changed it means I'm not going potty hehe

No car will get close - it's the traction the tires need which determines it. Stealth uses a hook on the bottom of the car to catapult it forwards, which means there's no loss through lack of friction and so they can apply as much power as they like to it.

There is at least two PHers in the Drag Racing forum that can smash that for acceleration.

You get 4.5g at launch with Stealth.

On a top fuel dragster you get 8g at launch, and then a continual acceleration of 4g (to do 300mph in 4.5seconds)

Hasn't Liam Doran's Citroen Xsara Rallycross car been timed at 1.9secs to 60mph?

I know Andy/Slinky well, but I think we should refer to his car more as a dragster (which it is) than a road legal car (which it is).

Ok FK ME!!!

I couldve googled that, but didnt really think of those guys till after I started the thread.

That is really amazing. Used to think drag racers were boring point and squirt, but I didnt even have time to call for my mummy let alone the adjustments they must have to do
