If the above were roughly the same price, same mileage etc, which would you choose and why? I've mulled it over for a few days and am none the wiser. Obviously the badge of the Masser stands out, but then the BMW is rather quick, the AMG (E or CLS) too.

Maserati for me personally, although I've never owned one, I love Italian cars.

Been out and driven an M5 a few times and I love it,and it'd prob be the one that i'd go for if it was me,the AMG's sound amazing but just don't do it,though got a soft spot for the Quattroporte still but not experienced one yet

The Merc's aren't as good as they use to be IMO

I'm a huge BMW fan so logic would dictate that I go for the M5 as they are great for everything from wafting to track days.
BUT
I think I'd go for the Maserati, the sound, the feel, the drama o and did I mention the sound !
Not as quick and technically out in the real world it isn't as good as the M5 but why the need to trackday it and race around like your hair is on fire ?
There isn't for normal road driving

The big Maser will stand out from the everyday Euro box's and German bahnstormers, looks great , comfortable and hey it has abit of Italian magic and noise to make you smile.

Head - BMW

Heart - Maserati

the difference being the truly terrifying potential running costs of anything with a Maserati badge!

Masser all day long, despite being a fan the E60; the looks and noise of the italian just do things to me. There's a guy who owns a jet black quattroportte on my way to work, always pass him going in the opposite direction and despite doing this for a good 6 months or so, I always give the car a lingering look as it goes past; it's a lovely piece of kit.

Maserati Quattropote , I always had a soft spot for them.

BMW/Merc wouldn't feel as special even though they may be very nice cars.

M5 for me, it's the middle ground and the most 'fun'.

I would say the AMG would be the sensible choice as the BMW could be very expensive to own if not coming with a warranty.

Quattroporte doesn't do it for me looks wise and would prefer the M5 as it almost blends in, M5 also sounds astonishing at high revs as has real supercar pace.
