RIP OFF BRITAIN!
Discussion
I'll keep this as brief as possible....The Thermostatic cartridge has packed up on my shower. It's made by Hudson Reed. Got onto Hudson Reed and was informed that the price would be £115. I thought that was a bit steep so after some detective work I found this:
http://de.hudsonreed.com/product/Hudson_Reed_Therm...
As you will notice this product is advertised on Hudson Reeds German website at a price of 37 Euros.
I phoned Hudson Reed UK back and said I have seen the thermostat advertised on the German website and I want it at that price. I'm sorry sir was the answer, you have to order it in the UK if you want delivery to the UK.
Funny because the Germans will send it to Belgium, France, Italy, Netherlands, Spain & Austria but not the UK.
Whats f
king worse is that when you click on the contacts section of the GERMAN website it give you UK contact details.
ARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Very vague answer (for whcih I apologise), but isn't there some EU anti-something law which means you can buy from anywhere in the EU? I recall that the Olympics couldn't prevent German/French/Spanish websites from selling tickets to Brits under the same legislation.
Failing that, find a PH-er in Germany and ask nicely.
Oli.

I do happen to have a Belgian mate who is, in fact, a plumber and I'm getting him to get it for me. But THAT'S NOT THE POINT! Failing that, find a PH-er in Germany and ask nicely.

Is that not in contravention of EU laws on free trade? Like the pub land lady with the greek satellite subscription for sky sports?Lordbenny said:

Maybe a German PHer can help you - ie take delivery and post it on. I'd ask on that forum
