If the classifieds on here are anything to go by it would appear that there are dealers/sellers out there who are asking more for a V8S than a V12V with similar mileage!

Clearly this is some large scale misprint?!

I'm sure the V8S is a wonderful car in isolation but, really, don't even think about buying one until you've driven at least one V12 Vantage a reasonable distance. You'd have to be very sure you don't want a V12 to pay more for a V8S.

Is there?? I cant readily spot two cars of the same age & mileage where the V8S is more than the V12V? confused

I would agree that there isnt as much difference as there should be, and slightly used the V12V is miles better value. You would have to be a die hard SS2 fan to go for the V8S for a few bob less.

Or a die hard roadster fan smile

There is a fantastic Viridian Green V8VSR on the classifieds for £98k, I would have that over a V12V.

Just for Adam2S's benefit:

both main dealers, the V12 has fewer miles too!

there are plenty more examples of this lunacy.

I take the point about die hard roadster fanatics. I love roadsters too but not that much!

Point noted Mr Pits.

That V8VS has a tremendous mileage for its age, probably been thrashed a bit too.

This pricing anomoly will always happen during a crossover period when a new model comes up against a limited production one that is depreciating slowly (if, of course £55K in 3 years can be construed as slowly).

Finances permitting, I would still opt for the V12V smile

Well the V12V is a year older and age is very much a factor in value on cars still under 3yrs old so you cant really compare this like for like. Its also one of the most expensive V8S's out there compared to one of the cheapest V12V's but I accept the general point you are making, as clearly there should be a much greater differential. I for one would have the V12V with an extra year, but then Ive driven them both. Many people might not drive the V12V assuming its beyond their budget etc....

+1 I ruled out the V12 because of the lack of roadster option
BTW that Viridian Green one is a WELL used press car wink
~£10-15k more will get you a new one in better spec wink

Ah, so that will explain why it has got so many miles in such a short space of time.

Does look great though.
