Mrs LT is after a new plate and has seen one she likes on one of the registration sites.
Never bought from one of these brokers before so wondered if anyone know if they tend to be up for a bit of haggling and, if so, how much one should be aiming for off the web price?
Depends on the company, some mark their prices up by an absurd amount. Whats the reg? There are a few people on here who could give you a realistic valuation. Bear in mind if its a prefix plate (X0XXX) these could be bought from the dvla originally for £250 upwards.
One of the big (might be biggest) UK dealers keeps offering me a number (has been for 6 years now) at £24,995 + VAT. I once got them down to £15k + VAT but it was still too expensive.
Shame really as it sold at auction for about £3,500.
Should've mentioned I bid for a number at auction, it went for just over 2k, more than I thought it was worth. 'That company' have offered it to me for just 15k. Thats some markup.
Depends on the company. Look at my prices and then look at some of the big dealers - you'll see that if you offered them 60% of the price it would be what I'd work on! Even if I don't have it listed I may be able to get it for you. PM me.
