Hi All,
I am looking to buy a DB9 and after looking at loads I think I have found the one
However it has two faults, one is that a warning message is being displayed on the dash saying a fault with the rear brakes/pads. The car has only done 23k miles so is it normal for pads to only last this long?
Also when I opened the glovebox the right hand side was all floppy and so the whole thing feels very unstable. Has anyone had this problem? and if so what was the cause.
The seller says he will get AM dealer to change the pads as the computer needs resetting? is he correct?
Thanks
Dave

Independent inspection. Don't mess around with brakes and pads - too important to believe a vendor. However it has two faults, one is that a warning message is being displayed on the dash saying a fault with the rear brakes/pads. Glove box - sounds odd. Has the car been in an RTC?
Rick at DMS or any other decent indy can inspect and offer an opinion. But statements like 'the computer needs resetting' make me super wary. It's not a crappy 386 windows pc back in the day that needed to be rebooted. It's a complicated piece of engineering.
Both those problems wouldn't worry me.....and how you go from a wobbly glove box to a car that’s been damaged in an RTA seems somewhat extreme
Do your homework
1. Check with the main dealer who last serviced it for its history
2. Get the brakes and glove box sorted at a main dealer and ask them to check out the car while it’s there (the check will cost you about £150 to £200
3. Speak to any previous owners if possible
Good luck we look forward to welcoming you to the club

I do realise it sounds odd. A chum had a shunt, airbags went off. No one hurt fortunately. One side effect was that the glove box was broken - maybe the impact or the explosion that filled the airbag. Anyway, it always stuck at the back of my mind. Of course, it could be a clumsy bugger slamming it shut!Do your homework

Or someone putting more than one glove in there (assuming it's the same size as teh V8V glove box). Certainly anything more than a pencil and the manual is a challenge.
I never keep the Manual in the Glovebox - I think you know why.As for the 1 glove...didn't Alvin Stardust used to wear just one glove ??
Could've been a previous owner

And why do you keep the manual in the glovebox? I don't. I just keep that little booklet thingy in there.

Classic Lyrics - Sadly, they just don't make them like that anymore

Georgeous, I fear your posting is a bit confused
