Unusual fruit for the garden?
Discussion
Does anybody here grow any unusual fruit in their garden?
This year I planted 2 Blackberry, 2 Boysenberry,2 raspberry, 2 tay berry, 2 loganberry, 2 blackcurrants,1 jostaberry(cross between a gooseberry and a blackcurrant apparently), 1 red currant and 1 huckleberry.
I was wondering what other people grow and looking for a few more unusual fruits to grow aswell.
So far Ive come across Honeyberry, cloudberry, thimbleberry, chokeberry and lingonberry. I think Im going to give these a go in the spring, Id never heard of them before so should be interesting.
Cheers.

Mulberries? loosen up the juices?
you can't get them off the tree without looking like you've just slaughtered an elephant, covered in red
we have redcurrant, thubarb, two different apples and a Damson tree
redcurrant is very easy to plant (just poke a stick in the ground) and quick to grow
harvest them using a fork to strip the berries off the branch

I looked at one of the fruit tree sites the other day and they were selling everything you can imagine include various nut trees in bare root. Some of the cherry tries do 2 varities in one tree and I am planning to plant russets in my new garden. A neighbour has quince but it is really only suitable for jam I iunderstand. They alos did peaches and nectarines and pomegranites for the right site.
We had an idea in our village to plant 'rambler fruit'; edible currants, gooseberries etc along local footpaths for ramblers to nibble at. Sadly in today's world it was thought people would just strip them rather than take a small handful.

Wait until they're ripe, they just fall off. It's still messy but worth it.you can't get them off the tree without looking like you've just slaughtered an elephant, covered in red

So I just found a website selling all sorts of flowers, trees, vegetables and fruits. Good thing is they deliver anywhere in the uk for £3.95(including the channel islands).
They have a ton of fruit trees, I think I might buy some of those 2 fruit on one tree mixes. They have an offer on atm I think for £30 and you get a red and green apple tree, a mixed pear tree and a mixed plum tree I think.
They also had trees that only grow to 1m tall! I'm definatly gonna buy a cherry one of these! Although depending on space I might get 4 of these 1m trees(apple pear plum and cherry). I didn't know you could get trees that only got to be 1m tall!
Cheers!

Would be interesting to hear a proper old-school actor reading it.
