I hear today the turbo cars are being slowed for this week race at rockingham.
Now I'm not saying this has anything to do with Plato this time, but the whole year he has been seen
Throwing his toys out if his pram and whining like a baby about the difference.

Now I see it that each team had a choice to make at the beginning of the season. So why the back down
Of the management ?

It would seem to me that the tail is wagging the dog !

You really have opened up a can of worms, but i totally agree.

perhaps Mr Plato might like to also mention on TV that his team had the option to run turbo like everyone else did, so perhaps the sour grapes should be directed at them.

Of course, it doesnt help that Matt Neal is a better driver anyway.

Of course the decision did not need to be made this season since all teams were promised parity by Alan Gow.

Didn't Chevy want to run a car as near as one they sell as possible and as they dont sell a turbo they didn't a turbo engine. Sounds far enough if the rules promised parity

Name me a single series where turbo and N/A engines have run together and the turbo engines haven't ended up with a silly power advantage and I'll eat my hat.

IIRC the engine in the BTCC cruze is a derivative of the XE engine that you would of found in cavaliers and astras ~20 years ago, in other words its got naff all to do with the cruze road car.

The writing was on the wall last year when the Jordans got the NGTC engine sorted out in their vectra, not to run a turbo engine this year was massively short sighted - especially for the budget the team run on. Other teams aren't as wealthy and have other issues in running turbo engines ( e.g.BMWs ) but have put in lots of effort to move in that direction.

Turbo cars have been pegged back again this weekend and have to carry +20kg. A couple of drivers were voicing concerns about the tyres holding up with the extra weight.

All they need to do is turbo charge the Camaro and they've got an excuse to have a turbo btcc car.

If he really wants to wind up Plato he should remind him of the power advantage his turbo diesel SEAT had. biggrin

As they're running 1.6 turbos in the Cruze in WTCC I very much doubt that.

Do we have to have this st again. Gow promise parity so the fastest turbo and fastest n/a car were to be equal. Also the turbo engine were an unknown jordan did win 2 races last year but they were revverse grid races and he and pinkney who run turbo had problems with the engines all year. Rml are not that wealthy the cars are practicly hand me downs from wtcc and most of the budget comes from silverline and mcdowel. The tweakes in the boost, weight etc would have happened even if plato wasn't pointing his views. Also only the ngtc car the audi, proton and toyota had a reduction in boost the hybrids have a 20kg extra weight this weekend and there wasn't any adjustments last meeting.

thats horsesheeet mgchris, if silverline/rml/plato hadnt approached gow after the last round asking for changes there would have been none....NO ONE else was complaining.

still, good to see boy wonder kissing gows arse again today to stop himself getting a rightfull penalty after quali.

Gow and toca said at the start of the series it would review the situation after every round to keep parity between the 2 types of engine it has nothing to do with plato moaning. Cant you see that or have you got your plato bashing glasses on. Grow up ffs.
