Non story in my book, probably a few too many beers, but so what. day off the next day, had won a match and 7 days before the noext one. I don't really care if they had a few and tossed a few dwarves around. Bar owner says they wer well behaved and he is probably a decent judge of character

While I can sort of see your point (athletes etc), I'm not sure that a gap of 8 days warrants being completely dry, if that's what helps the team relax. As Johnson said, they're adults. If they didn't know how to moderate their intake such that it didn't affect their performance, then they wouldn't be in the squad in the first place.

They are Welsh, they had a great team in the 70s, I think either option is fine, a day off from training or an extra day of training, the issue is the England team need to ensure the lack of training isn't the reason they loose later on and the Welsh need to be careful they don't injure themselves or burn out if they get to the final because they haven't had the rest days.

They're not playing in the Cornwall cup or an amateur event, this is the Worlld Cup and they need to act like the professionals they're supposed to be. At the end of the tournament, fair enough, but midway through I think it's bad and shows a lack of commitment, especially after their s
t-poor performance against the Argies.To be honest after that game against the Argies, a very physical hard game, how many of them would have been in a physically fit state to do proper training? They would have been battered beyond belief.
