PLEASE HELP.. non runner after K&N filter fitment
Discussion
Hi All
Having a bit of a nightmate!... finally got round to fitting my K&N filter today, all went well, piece of cake to fit and then i came to starting it.
Basically cutting a long story short, its a mk1 eunos and if i try to start it with the air flow meter plugged in, then it turns over but wont fire..... then if i un plug it and try again it starts first time and ticks over fine, but every time i go to rev it it just cuts out!
The one blonde moment i did have was that when i was taking the old air box out i actually un screwed the air flow meter body and exposed all the gubbins inside, i dont know if that makes any difference?
Please please help.... i need it running for monday

putting it in to my simple terms, as you look in to the engine bay i see the alloy box on the right hand side inbetween the big plastic pipe that goes to the other side of the engine and the K&N filter, this alloy box has what looks to be like a silicone based top on it that the plug for the AFM plugs in to, when i took the plug off i also unscrewed the socket for that plug on the AFM, it popped outwards about 1/4 inch and i could see lots of metal pieces inside, at that point i screwed it back in.
hope this all makes sense?

i also unscrewed that socket bit for the plug on the AFM and lots of metal bits popped out and didn't work again... lucky for me, i don't need the AFM anymore - i was only unscrewing it to see if i could use the plug...hope this all makes sense?
