Impetigo, help!
Discussion
Evening all, my 2 year old has had impetigo twice this year which the doctor treated with oral antibiotics, however after bathing him this evening it looks like it has reappeared. Problem is we are going on our first family holiday abroad tommorow and can't get to a doctor! Does anyone know if we can get anything over the counter at the chemist in the morning for him? We are really gutted because we can't work out where he is picking it up from and we were really looking forward to spending the week in the pool and at the water park with him!
You're better off phoning your GP and talking to whoever is on-call. Ordinarily the pharmacy wouldn't be able to supply anything to treat impetigo without a prescription unless they have a Minor Ailments Scheme running in Cornwall.
Even then that'd probably only stretch to Bactroban cream rather than an oral antibiotic
