As an Alfisti, I'm horrified to say I find the Jag the better looker.

Reckon I would take the Alfa. Either on the drive would make me happy though.

Both of tho'se car's are lovely looking thing's. The Alfa look's a lot like an Eli'se to me 'so I would probably ju'st go for one of tho'se. The Jag' on the other hand appear's to be a bit of an animal. 'Some impre's'sive number's in that 'spec! I'd be intere'sted in 'seeing 'some picture's of the interior of the Alfa a's I 'su'spect that's where it'd really beat the Jag'.

Is the Alfa going to be anything other than a crushing disappointment when it arrives though? After all this hype, I'm steeling myself for it to be a real letdown.

Ditto, looks fat and pudgy in that photo too.

That Jag is awesome though; Jag going from strength to strength.

The Jaguar any day of the week, that Alfa looks ugly IMO.

Agreed, I have been disappointed with every Alfa launch in the last 20 years or so and I get the impression this car, if it ever happens, will be far too expensive and compete with the Jag and the Cayman S and it will no doubt lose.

Jag is more likely to be made but I think it might steal customers from its own XK rather than from the mid engined Porsches

To look at... the Jag.

To own... hmm, possibly the Alfa.

I just have this horrible feeling the Jag is going to turn out to be bigger, heavier and more expensive than we really want it to be.

Unfortunately, I agree.

That's without not even speaking of the V6 in the Jaguar vs. the turbocharged 4-pot in the Alfa.

Alfa. For the design details. And it will most probably age far better. I really don't like the front of the new Jag. Looks too tall, and like the headlights were taken from something else and not designed entirely with that car in mind.

Okay so the Alfa gets my vote based purely on looks.

The Jag' is a bit Nissan GTR up front with a gaping Peugeot 407 Coupe' grille, Aston-esque (suprise-suprise for a Jag') back end and Audi-ish tail lights. It does have the XK bonnet bulge though.

The Alfa does have suprisingly large tail lights and takes styling ques from other Alfas but compared to it's main rival the Lotus Elise the car just looks so much better it's in a different league.

Although the Alfa does look a bit like a an 8C that's shrunk in the wash it doesn't look like a commitee design. The design of the Jag' looks clunky to me as if one person designed that bit and another the other and another the other and so on. The Alfa flows like the design team were working together. In my opinion the Alfa is the better looking car because unlike the Jag' you can look at the Alfa without thinking "what other car does that bit remind me of".

Generic Jag' or attractive Alfa?

O/T If we're talking engine's I hope there's a 3.2 GTA V6 vesion of the 4C (6C?) to take on the Evora because on the looks front it would be a much closer match. 4C v's Elise is no contest.

I would have thought the Alfa is just as vulnerable to the same risks.

I'd quite happily have either of those. The Alfa is supposedly going to be around the £40k mark isn't it? Is the Jag aimed at the same market?

When the Alfa comes towards you as you're standing at the side of the road you'll think, "Wow that's the new Alfa". cloud9

When the Jag' comes towards you while you're standing at the same bit of road you'll think, "Is that a 407, Nissan, Aston, Audi oh it's the new Jag'". rolleyes
