Does anyone know where i can buy a heat proof cover for my alternator.

Perhaps a Mod-Wise Starter Motor Shield would do the trick? I'm not familiar with the exact dimensions of the starter and alrernator. If it's not a good match, perhaps you can request that Mod-Wise fabricate one for you?

made one from a sheet of leftover thermo-tec high velocity exhaust jacket material coated with their adhesive aluminised heat barrier ...also made a set of plug lead protectors the same way.

That's the sort of thing i was thinking about,i'm sure i've seen someone advertising in Sprint but can't find them now seen them on a few cars look very good quality.
The plug lead protectors sound a good idea too
