Do mods actually look at the posts that are being complained about, or is it just a case of 'get x amount, and ban applies'?

Each complaint is reviewed on it's own merit.

Some are acted upon, some are not. But they are not usally taken on single merit, but on the context of the thread as a whole.

Volume of complaints do not dictate any given action. The PH posting rules are the ones that are used as the basis for any action to be taken (or not).

Any actions taken against any individual PHer is not for public discussion and is a private matter between PH and the person concerned. There are some instances where this is not the case; but overall this is not the norm.
