erratic oil pressure

Hi,
I know the oil pressure gauges on the cerb are naff, but mine seems to have a life of it's own.

I have replaced the pressure relief spring and now have a health 80psi cold.
40-60psi when warm.

but when I let off and overrun a bit (up to lights or slowing) it drops really low, but if I blip the throttle it goes back 40-60.

any idea's??

obvious first one is an oil change, but other suggestions welcomed.

I have the gauge refurbed a whilt back when the temp gauge died.
not sure if I got all the air out when I refitted, so might try bleeding it

Hi

I had this problem on a recent trip away with other TVR's - especially when the car was really warm, after speaking to other cerb owners there i checked the oil the next morning and it was halfway between the two marks - which is where i usually keep it, however i was told to fill it up to the top mark and try to keep it there, this made a big difference. So may be worth a try.. I have also changed the Oil pressure relief spring since i came back and this has added 20psi to my cold pressure..

Ta, does it make that much difference??

when i did the pressure relief spring, I got an extra 20psi as well.
