After having my car for about a year, the clutch started slipping so had to get it replaced.

Fast forward 4 months after getting the clutch fitted, the smell came again! It was while parallel parking on a steep hill. Speeds were very low so couldn't fully release clutch pedal while maneuvering in such a small space at such low speeds.

I thought clutch burn shouldn't happen with a newish clutch and it was a sign that a clutch was nearing its end. Surely my driving isn't so bad that I've got through a clutch in 4 months! Is this normal? Car is around 6 years old.

Clutches will smell/burn if you slip them lots (which you did) If it isn't slipping now then there shouldn't be a problem, you'll just have shortened the life of the clutch a bit.

I had a new clutch in recently.

Then I got stuck in very slow moving traffic on a hill in Sheffield where it never actually stopped, but was slower than being in first.

Ended up reeking of clutch at the top.

the burning smell is not the clutch slipping.

get in any car and use the clutch heavily and it will smell.

it's not a problem at all whatsoever, brand new cars do it too

it's not started slipping has it? if so don't worry its normal!

I think I would have been stopping and starting and using the handbrake, not slipping the clutch the whole time.
