Audi S6, C5, year 2000, mpg
Discussion
I had one and sold it due to it's thirst.
I was getting about 15mpg around the town and only low to mid 20's on a motorway run.
A glorious motor though, stonking V8 that sounds fabulous, nice understated styling and a lovely interior. I'd have another one in a moment if super unleaded was half the price!!
This was pretty normal to see on the computer...

V8wagon,
Thats what i'm afraid off!
Car will only be used 1 week in 3 for a 30 odd mile daily commute, off peak and constant speed.
That is not a lot of miles really - does MPG even matter?Thats what i'm afraid off!

If I were running an S6 with those sorts of milages, MPG would be the last thing on my mind. This was a £50k+ car which is now getting older.
I'm sure it will be capable of throwing you bills equivalent to you annual petrol bill without even trying.
Yeh, iirc the cambelt change requires the whole front of the car removing, much like the smaller S4. The guy who bought mine sent me a text message shortly after buying it telling me he'd had the belt done and a service and it'd cost him nigh on £1500 iirc.
Mine felt pretty solid tbh. It was the autobox that I felt might land me with a big bill if it screwed up.
Tyres were also prohibitively expensive being something big like 255/45/18's and due to it being 4wd you need to replace both either side at the same time to avoid the diff winding up or something.....or so the scaremongerers told me!
I do miss the old bus though....
Nice outside...

Lovely inside...
