My Dad had one of these in the late 80's. As a kid it felt amazing, plush, fast and the bloody thing talked to you. 'Right rear door not shut!' ' lights left on!' etc in a sexy british female voice.

But it seems that you can't get one now on autotrader or ebay. I don't want one but I am wondering, were they just poo? Did they rot into the planet? As a pre driving teen did they tick all of the non drivers boxes but were dreadfull to drive?

Just wondering.

Saw one the other day actually, caused a full-on double-take.

So many of the 80s Renaults have simply disappeared... I wish I could find a 15 GTL:

I liked them. Seem to recall the 'Baccara' being the top of the range. Nice in metallic brown.

Most have probably been banger raced I would imagine - or scrapped with knackered electrics or gearboxes. It wouldn't have been rust that killed them off (my R21 of that era had hardly any rust)

My stepdad had a Renault dealership in the late 70's and often used a 30TX. Lovely wafter but alas so few and far between these days. As per the above 15 and 17 series.
Just looking at 'how many left' and it seems about 200 of all 25 differing variants and about 12 of the 30

My Dad had many poor cars, some kind of big Vauxhall in the 70's , Granada Mk 1 and Mk2' Renault 25 GTX, Rover sdi 2.0' vauxhall Cavelier 2.0, Vauxhall Fontera 1.8 and finally some Renault mpv kind of poop box.

The only good cars were the Granada Mk1 and the Renault. The Renault stands out because it bloody talked to you. As a kid it was awesome. I am determined to not follow the st car route so my dreadfull car history shall hopefully be sorted soon with a 330i or 330d / 335d coupe. Shame it won't talk to me thoughfrown.

Just get yourself a Maestro then if you want a 'talking' car! Maybe not

I used to wash a 25 Monaco when I was 10 (ish).....loved it.

Baring in mind we had a MK2 Golf, it was a lovely place to be....I did se one on the road a few months ago. I fear most have rotted into dust by now.

When I owned a R5 GTT back in the late 80s, I was once lent a top end Turbo V6 25 as their courtesy car was out on extended loan.

It was very wafty and quite poke and for a few hours I could almost see myself in one, then I got the 5 back and such ideas were promptly consigned the tray marked "What were you thinking?!??!?"

My best mate's Dad had one as a company car when I was a kid... fond memories of it, less so of the Safrane that replaced it.
