Waving Etiquette
Discussion
Now coming from an Elise and the Lotus fraternity where a friendly wave from one owner to another of the same marque as we frequented the queens highway was almost compulsory, and failure to wave back caused you to be ridiculed on the various forums as not having an interest and passion in the marque or the history etc.
After a few days in the Vantage now where I have on coming across a fellow Aston Martin owner I seem to be in the minority, and the reactions range from the occasionally positive with a smile and a wave back, the almost embarrassed wave back, being totally ignored and the “WTF are you on about” in response to my wave.
The question is should I just give up as it’s not the done thing in an Aston, or persevere on the basis that I’ve met an unrepresentative sample so far?

Been talked about on here and on AMOC.
Those who don't wave don't seem to have an interest in the brand/heritage etc, it's just a Porsche/Ferrari alternative and is almost exclusively Gaydon cars - predominantly the Vantage in my experience. However, I have had a wave and grin back, make all the non-waves worthwhile
Keep waving, I always do! (DB9 Volante)
/Off topic, but most reliable wavers are Land Rover owners - real Landys though, Defender or older. See a good few on the South Circular!

I will 2nd that!!! Tradition is to throw up L signs!! I used to do lots of off roading, green lanes and pay n play days in the mud with Thames valley 4X4...
Landie owners are a tight knitt bunch, and all friendly and good fun.
As for waving at other Astons!! I try not to as some are customers of mine locally to me and dont want them to know i too have an Aston....
Instead I just wave at random people!! Suprising how many people wave back!! LOL....
