Wiesmann Says 'So-Long' With Stripes

MF3 Roadster Final Editions come in 18 shades of streaky

PHers seem to like a Wiesmann, but those who've been liking the BMW six-cylinder powered MF3 version for the last 18 years will have to move on.

The 3.2 litre 343hp engine from the E46 M3 is no longer available off the shelf from BMW, so the MF3 must die with it. And to celebrate (the MF3's glorious past, not it's passing), Wiesmann has teamed up with German fashion brand Sieger to produce 18 run-out cars with designer colours and trim.

The result is definitely eye-catching and (dare we say this?) not quite as tasteless as a person might reasonably expect on hearing that a German low-volume car builder had employed a German clothing specialist to dress-up its plastic re-interpretation of the 'classic British sportscar'.

Or maybe 18 years of production has softened us up... Either way, there are going to be 18 different stripy colour and trim variations for the 18 MF3 Final Editions, and one of them is currently on show at Frankfurt.

The Wiesmann is certainly a car in my fantasy garage, at the risk of sounding dull, i'd have it in a dark colour, as i think it suits the lines of the car.

Very nice, and with one of the best sounding and going sixes ever made, this must be a stunning car to drive. Sadly I have yet to try one!

I love the fact that a motoring website can't spell the name of a car manufacturer. hehe

Stunning car, agree about the darker colour, dark blue or black for me with a tan interior.

... yeah, for the same sort of money I would go for an Asten Martin or a Miserati ... or a good low mileage TRV !

When I can get a job that pays enought that I dont need to worry about spending this type of money on a car its one of these:

Think I would prefer the V8... or maybe the V10 in the MF5

Like Paul Smith - just without the British style. Sort of sums up a Wiesmann really.

Hard not to like these cars, sans all the fancy stripes etc.

I love these things, but I don't think the white suits them as previously said: However I nice dark rich colour, they look great especially in this image(of a MF4 GT and was posted in the dormant other thread). Stunning cars:

They are stunning cars, but what have they done with the wheels? They look several sizes too big, and make the car look ridiculous.

They usually have big wheels and usually BBS, which look very good. They do give it a cartoonish feel.

Lovely cars, also in my fantasy garage - hardly any right hookers around. I've driven one in Monte Carlo and it was a hoot - although the SMG didn't do it much of a favour, a real feel good factor and the hand crafting on the interior is exquisite.

yeah, those MF4 GT are my favorite too, a few months ago I had a short test drive in a MF4 GT it was very nice but I would change some little things that would make it better.

I also had a passenger ride in a MF4-S roadster thats with a M3 V8 engine but that car was somewhat to comfy? not much thrills

I was not such fan of the MF3 because no hard-top etc...and no alu mono but it has a galvanized? frame chassis? anyway, but those people who worked there (was a open day in Utrecht by Hoefa Netherlands) say, the best most awarding? car is the MF3 at least 3 people mentioned it when I said I like the MF4 GT...so at the end of the day the boss exist I took a passenger ride with a 2006? MF3 roadster with the S54 engine en sequential gearbox.
So I did...and boy were they right, it felt very good even as a passenger you felt the connection with the road and the pretty stiff chassis, it felt like a real fun-car.
hm...so now I'm open also for a MF3 biggrin
shame they don't made hardtops for that MF3...and also strange because Wiesmann begun as a sort of hardtop builder for many cars biggrin
But they said it would not be to difficult to make a hard-top for the MF3 but the market would be to small and so cost to high I guess.
