How to remove heater console

My cabin heater has stopped working, although the heated mirror indicator still lights up when the knob is pushed.

I want to remove the heater control panel, but can't see any obvious fixings. Is it stuck on, and if so, will it prise off without damaging anything, or are there hidden fixings?

If anyone can help with possible causes for the fan to have stopped, advise is most welcome!

You need to take the two electric window switches out, they should just pull out. You should just be able two see 2 nuts each side of the holes. I found that using a bent spanner to initially undo the nuts helped, then use your fingers to undo them completely. The panel then comes out.

To lift the heater control panel out you have to lift the centre consol, to do that behind the seats there are two 8mm nuts undo them, next the handbrake needs to be in the vertical position to acheive this either get under the car and slacken the cable off or if you can't get under the car then remove the rear wheels and remover the disc pads!! replace the wheels , the handbrake lever will then go to the near vertical and the centre consol can be lifted expoaing the heater panel retaining studs and nuts.
all wires are on plugs and are easily removed, if you need to do work on the pc board then be careful as the LED's are a very tight fit in the panel.

Another way is to remove the dash and then reach underneath from behind the dash, I'd go for Wildeeps approach if you can get to it tho

On reflection, since the heated mirror function and temperature control still work okay, I think it's more likely the probelm is at the fan end. According to the bible (which is not very clear to me) you get to the fan through the near side headlight inspection panel in front of the front wheel. Is that correct?

Does anyone know what size the two nuts are that hold the heater panel in place ? I'm trying to undo them through the window switches but need to know which spanner to bend !

I think if they work at all, that they come on automatically, regardless of outside temperature, for a certain time (10 mins or something). Not convinced mine work though (or are even fitted).
