They've just confirmed a milti-million pound investment in the West Mids. (Wolverhampton)to build the next generation of engines for Jaguar Land Rover vehicles and no a mention of it anywhere on this site!!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-14...

Also, under the "News" heading, there's no link to Jaguar or Landrover but TVR gets a link and they don't even do anything at the moment!

Come on, sort it out or we may start thinking that PH is anti-Jaguar & Landrover.

Its really good news as they could have easily taken it some where cheaper. The current market of China/Russia etc seem to like the British building cars we all did once.

This place started as a TVR place so thats why it is still featured

Good news all the same for the Midlands and the British car industry, JLR are going from strength to strength. If TATA can do it why couldn't Ford!

We're definitely pro-Jaguar, certainly the coverage count of TVR against JLR backs that up. I agree with your comments however.

We have had men out at launch today but we'll endeavor to get an inside line, an added comment or something from JLR for an early story tomorrow AM.

This plant will not be as big as the Ford engine plant at Dagenham.

I meant the whole company not just the engines. They have to start building their own engines as they pay for each one from Ford at present and that can't continue

That's ripe. Mandy and the Labour Government seriously pissed off JLR by refusing to underwrite operating loans a couple of years back. In the end Ratan Tata, being an absolute Gentlemen, stated that JLR would get the funding through independent means as the Government terms were "too onerous".

Tata are investing despite Mandy not because of him.
