The inlaws new purchase'

1943 AEC Matador (Very Rare) went and picked it up at the weekend from Devon' Bought from a private Museum. Was built for the Army back in the day in this area Using a Atkinson mk1 original cab, It is truelly stunning in my opinion' Extremely clean just a few touch ups to do, also a wash and polish.

Thats pretty cool and different. Do you have plans for it? Is it going to get used or is it purely to be kept as a collectible?

I love the little Black 'n Brass plates with info on, sooo much nicer and more polite than our current sticky labels :-)

Levers are for' High, low boxes, The winch which is hidden underneath it but you can see it from inside the cab, Its the inlaws but his plans are to keep it orignal but only change the board on the top to his name and comnpany' which he does with all the wagons he gets,

Cost £700 in Diesel too to get there and back to Devon, no wonder Haulage companies are twisting these days

if the "cabin heater" a later addition???


(i say "cabin heater" because if it's anything like the early S1 LandRover heaters it ranges in temperature between thermonuclear (approx 0.2cm away from heater) to absolute zero (about 1.3cm away) and all it does is scald ones legs ;-) )

Bet driving that thing would put hairs on your chest! I once drove a restored '53 Leyland Bullnose a short distance and it was a heavy bd to drive.

oh yes, steering is very hard work, remember the old land rover heaters well too
