Has been a stunning year with Project Zed & a great way to finish 2011 off with our biggest mph to date first run & then our last run being our fastest ever run.

Have not got enough superlatives for Abbey Motorsport & the Brams Racing crew - huge move forward from our best of 7.3 in 2010 to what has been an incredible 2011 with Sixes at every single event & a best time of 6.63.

More to come for sure next year but for now a well earned rest for us all

Thank you guys - maybe one day things might change.
I could understand it if we had a huge motor ie/ V10 or V12 but with a V6 wouldnt see us as a huge threat to turn the world on its head.
We have had a great year in terms of getting the car "down the track" regardless of conditions so would always stand a chance of causing a little upset or two.

Am sure it would bring extra people through the gate from the jap world & also sure our sponsors would do an awful lot more which in turn has to be good for the pod etc - maybe one day the MSA rounds might get relaxed to allow it ?

Who do you have to lobby to get accepted? I take it that it's Pro Mod that you want to compete in and the fact that you run a V6 that's the problem.

hi - we would LOVE to race in Pro Mod as no breakout & would force us to try & go that bit quicker as we are still chasing those Aussies in terms of fastest jap times (now 6.38).
Personally i dont think it would EVER happen with FIA rounds as put simply the rules clearly state V8 & the politics would be far to cumbersome.

As for MSA they obviously follow similar rules but i would hope maybe a little bit more flexibility could be applied ?
Would love to attend either an AGM or drivers meeting to talk about 2012 and see if we would be welcome or not - no harm in trying.

You need to gain 160lbs to start with.. wink

Minimum weight of 2650lbs for a turbo combination... (we're a touch heavier)

I hear what you're saying chap, on both counts..

Rules is rules though (as we're hearing a lot right now!) so I dare say that special dispensation in one area would lead to increased scrutiny in others...

Current rules for PM are thus:

Nitrous-assisted Entries (Unlimited cid)
2,350 pounds (1,066 kg)
Supercharged Entries (maximum 526 cid - 8,619.5 cm3)
2,650 pounds (1,202 kg)
Turbocharged Entries (maximum 540 cid - 8,849 cm3)
2,650 pounds (1,202 kg).

I certainly wouldn't lose hope John. If you really want to go for that class it's worth a shot. If you got the weight break sorted (you are lacking 2 cylinders after all) and the rest of the Pro Mod drivers on your side, instinct tells me that the FIA wouldn't be averse to diverging a little from American rules, they're French at the end of the day and we all know what a contrary bunch the French are. Test the water with Michael Gullqvist of FIA dragracing speedgroup. michael.gullquist@speedgroup.eu He'd tell you straight off whether it's worth pursuing. You owe it to that beautiful car.

Slinky, do you know how much time that extra weight is costing? They say constantly in F1 that evry X kg of fuel costs X amount of time per lap and that the calculation is always exact and as certain as night following day. Just wondering if those workings can transfer to dragracing?
