Don't try to stop the runs - any bug that causes that is definitely better out than in. Get some dioralyte or similar - to replace electrolytes you're losing - make it up slightly stronger than directed and drink plenty of it, and just wait it out.
If you're really struggling to cope, right your GP and ask for advice, they might be able to come and give you a jab to get you on the road to recovery a bit quicker or something.

I only know this because I had it many years back in Africa. Taking a sleeper train down to Botswana. I was one hell of a state. Bloody bugs didn't completely shift for several years too. Nasty!

As above and some Doctors have a 10 yes 10 day wait for an appointment.
10days? Quoted figures on NHS website is 48 hours max to see a GP. Suggest you find another surgery.I am very lucky with my GP who acted quickly both times that I have been diagnosed with advanced cancer and he will see me straight away.
