You were warned in the title. Don't say you weren't.

Modern classic, between 15 to 25 years old, 4 seats, reasonably nippy, around £3500/4000.

I don't know what I'm thinking either. Chocks away!

Comes up all the time but - Corrado VR6? smile

£4,000 would get you a very good one.

Possibly mint Saab 900 convertible. May fall down on the Nippy front if you like B-Road twisties, but will be fine on a long distance M-Way blast.

EDIT: But my money would be on the Corrado above!

To do what with?

Is it for commuting or shows?

How important is the seating, will a 2+2 do, or must it be a saloon?

Where will you drive and why?

What is nippy?

25 years ago 10 sec to 60mph might have been consider nippy, whereas today it isn't.

Why no older than 25 years?? confused

Do really like these. Sister in law has had a T16 cabriolet from new - she's looking at selling it in the next year or so as it hardly gets used. Really tempted to make her an offer.

Have been thinking about an E30, but finding one that hasn't been messed around with and isn't auto is proving to be tricky. I like the idea of a Corrado, hadn't really thought about that! Liking the Ur Quattro as well.

Commuting and social (more social, since I don't really need to commute), and to take to shows. Driving round town, round B-roads. Nippy, for me, is anything faster than my old 1.9TD Punto. I guess no older than 25 years because I'd still like a few creature comforts, but I'd also like it to be something I can learn to work on myself. So decent heating, but an engine that isn't 90% electronics.

EDIT: I'm the most enthusiastic driver out of my close friends, so I or the wife tend to drive people places if we're going as a group, hence the seating.

It's a silly set of criteria I know, but I just want something different, that I can learn to work on myself, really.

MK2 Golf GTi (again comes up all the time). £4k would get you a nice one.

e.g. (Not for sale, just an example of how good looking they can be. Believe it belongs to someone on here.)

Someone on here posted a link to a decently priced E30 325ix in the last week. Think that was manual. Anyone got the link?

It is auto though - damn!

Pause whilst 300 goes on to Wikipedia to find pictures of 5.7l V8 American barges.

£5 says there's going to be a Mustang, a Camaro and possibly a Firebird in his suggestions.

That Golf looks fantastic!

Although... that Trans-Am. God help me, but I love it. That is very, very tempting. The Lotus isn't half bad either.
