Subwoofers for Esprit?

Hi All,
Any advice for installing a subwoofer in an Esprit?
I was thinking of installing in the rear compartment...just don't know if it will do more than just rattle the deck lid.

PS. I'm not looking to bass-kill the neighbors..just want to enhance the existing Alpine system.

I have these JL Audio 6" subs mounted in the stock location behind the seats powered by a Memphis 300 watt amp and they work very well.

in the footwell, i have a blanpunkt 140w sub,,,sound small but is really good, i have a history of big big systems and this doesnt do a bad job at all

hi,

i have put an 8" sub in my esprit, what i did was remove the map pocket between the seats (at the rear next to the bulkhead) and then i just built a box out of mdf to the size and shape, it has worked very well. Only problem i had was the angles, as it was not square like most boxes, but i got there in the end. I also made the box so it is sealed and then put two 4" chrome ports in it.
