shower arm connection

Can someone tell me what sort of connector is used to attach a fixed shower arm to incoming 15mm copper pipe.
Is it a compression fitting on the shower arm?

Usually either a 1/2 female to 15mm comp. Come in angled and straight forms depending on your pipework. And don't forget to wrap some tape ofn the shower arm threads

Ah, I see. So it's a connector with copper pipe going in one end and shower arm in the other. Thought that arm connected directly to pipe.

It depends. Some fit directly onto the pipe.
