I've just bought one.
(2009 model)
Apart from ditching the run flats at the earliest opportunity, is there anything else anyone can suggest that I need to know?
Are the run flats really that bad?
The ones fitted seem to nearly new.
If I turn of the traction control will I instantly crash and die, or will I just slide around a bit grinning?

I think run flats are tolerable in summer but are plain dangerous in winter ( Poor traction, poor lateral grip and long stopping distances ). The difference when I swapped from 19" Bridgestone RFTs to 17" Dunlop Winter Sport 3Ds, on my E92 335i, was night and day. Ride on the stiff walled RFTs is cart like too. imho of course. Sorry to hijack the thread... I'm looking at some winter rims and tyres for my 335i and didn't know if 17" alloys would fit, but I take it yours fit no problem? Out of interest where did you get the alloys?Darlo74 said:

Wheels front 8J x 17
rear 8.5J x 17
Tyres front 225/45 R 17 91W
rear 225/45 R 17 91W
I bought refurbed style 158 alloys from here earlier this year.... http://www.bmautosport.co.uk/showroom/product_info...
Refurb quality was very good as was their service. If you're fitting winter tyres, ask if they'll do rims only ~ they did for me.

get the clutch delay valve (CDV) modified so you can change gear properly and fit E90 M3 bushes in the rear subframe and get the M3 front lower control arms. then last but not least head over to Birds and pick up the full B1 suspension set and quaife LSD...
