there are some on ebay at the moment
not the nicest ones but i like the way they have moulded them to fit the side pods
is anyone on here bidding on them ? if you win can you send me some detailed pics
i have a plan for a set of big scoops and looks like the way these ones fit could be used

Ive been looking at some on the Peter Smith website www.dcjg70.co.uk. Look to be £112 each ex VAT and delivery in GRP.
I quite fancy a set. Do they improve air flow into the engine bay all that much though? Or more a cosmetic visual thing. They look great!

will the clam need repainting after it has been cut ?
I cut mine without repainting, just mask off the ensure the paint does not chip around the edges while cutting, paint the inside profile with some black paint and a touch up brush.but i am not brave enough !

After doing some aero mods to the front wheel arches, i got this airflow reading from the side pods, max 65kmh airflow when travelling at 130kmh, also when tested at 60kmh the airflow as 30kmh, but unfortunateluy i never tested above 130kmh and i did not test airflwo before doing the other aero mods, also the airflow reading may not be accurate, but for me it was convincing enough to mount the oil cooler in the side pod.

The top side scoops in the rear clam seem to get the best airflow into the engine bay, 93kmh airflow when travelling at 120kmh (after aero mods).

the issue is that air down the side of the car is turbulent... you either need to tidy the air up to allow the scoop to ram it into the engine bay (very hard to do fully even when sorting the front wheel arch venting)... or you have to make the engine bay suck air in.
Unfortunately getting the air sucked in is also hard as the rear of the car is a reasonable exit but will never suck air through... in fact often air actually goes IN via rear end vents so has the opposite effect (this is what happens on the Ultima IMO)!!!
what we actually need is openings in the high pressure areas on the top of the car to suck air through... again hard as we have buttresses and a dropped area between them above the engine bay that causes turbulence and looses the high pressure that would usually be there (hence we raise the wing to get to clean air!).
the exits behind the rear wheel probably only vents the wheel arch and not the engine bay.
