Basically the coroner investigating the Dover accident has asked RYA for a list of safety improvements and their response is to suspend OCR type racing.
I can't see this being a positive thing for the sport on the basis that OCR style is effectively entry level offshore racing and often uses typical pleasure vessels.
Introduce side impact protection minimums and most standard boats won't qualify taking potential entries out of the sport. Entries that are key to working up the licence grades from experience affecting the sport as a whole.
