Hello all, I'm on an excursion from the Wedge forum

I'm after opinions on prices for an M. Apologies for the vagueness of the description, I'm more familiar with Wedges (my Wedge) than these, but was quite taken with one recently....

Was away for the weekend and spotted what looked to be a TVR shaped rear down a side street. Sure enough it was, I'm sure it was an M, not 100% sure which though, L-reg(1973). Can anyone offer pointers on how to tell the difference? Ivy growing around it and covering the lower half and wheels. All looked intact and nothing obviously missing, interior, instruments wheels there. But very neglected, needs respray, prob chassis and other work and couldn't see what else. Prob body off job.....

Owner not about, just a tired sign inside with a mobile number and offers over £3000, no reply though. Now, I'm fairly sure that's well over the odds. Question is, what would be a reasonable amount for such a project?

Anyone got any good M restoration website links?

thanks
Dave

Mine was pretty much a basket case when I bought it almost three years ago, although dry stored there was a lot to do to it to make it workable. Three years on, and with two of us working on it, its still not complete, but it's an amazing beast. A body off job needn't be as big a job as it could be. Chassis may need some new tubes, engine may need some tickling, if you just want it to run, then it's not 'necessarily' a lot, but these things can last longer than planned, i'm testiment to that!

Have a look at the site if it helps. Link on my profile.

Re value of the car, i'd say, based on your description, and the price of mine, a grand, top whack.

You sure it wasn't £300?

Thanks for replies so far, I was thinking £500-£1000 maybe. It was def £3000, "offers under £3000 not considered". Got a few photos with digital camera and just checked it.

I'd consider a bit of a basketcase if cheap, under £1000, but not £3k, just been looking through Sprint and there's a few good conditions ones between £3-4k.

Thanks for the website link, looks good site, I'll have a proper look at lunch......

cheers

top job on the website, still reading

If I've still got the Wedge in a year or two will be giving serious thought to a body-off job. Until then, I've been loosely after a project, close to £500 would be good, I like a challenge Am trying to get in touch with the owner to see if he's serious about the price as it's such a shame to leave it to get covered in more ivy and rot away
