Just got back of hols to find a NIP on the doormat. 46 in a 30 by a mobile device. I have no recollection whatsoever of being flashed so must have been a well hidden laser operator. Location was Toddington, Bedfordshire.

I am normally careful through here, I can only assume I went a bit before the NSL.

Am I likely to get a ban for this? As I am doing 900 miles a week travelling to/from work at the moment it would be a trifle inconvenient to say the least.

If they are operating under ACPO Guidelines then its a Conditional Offer up to 49mph. Above that - Court and a possible rendering of These boots are made for walking.

I don't mind points and a fine, but a ban would be a LOT of hassle. I read somewhere that the threshold was 50% over the limit - 45. My 46 puts me in the do-do if thats the case.

Checked out the location this am. The road in question isn't that long, built up section including a school (no way I would have been over 30 there) petering out to just houses along one side of the road before you get to the NSL.

As I recall on the day in question I'd just run out of fuel (missed the services on M1) and had 5 miles on the computer, so I was driving extremely carefully (in terms of acceleration/decelleration) and was bricking it in case I ran out altogether. I'm really surprised I was speeding at all, I was driving VERY conservatively.
