I spend quite a bit of time on the road and two particular sights yesterday got me thinking;

What is the most ridiculous thing you have witnessed other drivers doing whilst at the wheel?

yesterday i encountered a chap having a shave on the A13 and a woman eating doritos on the M25... Dip and all!

truly ridiculous!

Whilst driving in a van on the M3 me & my mate saw the guy beside up (middle lane) being sucked off by his misses!

We laughed & he just stuck his thumb up as if to say "result" biggrin

I have witnessed someone shaving on the A3. Wet shaving, with brush, foam etc etc. I have also seen people reading a newspaper.

It's deeply impressive that you were able to recognise the lady from your viewpoint, if indeed it was a lady.

Doritos isn't too bad. I've had a Big Mac meal whilst driving.

I've seen someone using a laptop on the M6. They had it resting on their legs as well so not even properly secured.

Peripherique in Paris is normally good to see some odd sights. One that stands out was a bloke on a scooter, helmet balancing on top of his head, filtering through traffic whilst squinting and gurning in his mirrors having a shave. Alas, it was only an electric razor so maybe not as good as the post above with badger brush, foam etc. smile

Whilst driving a hired van round a roundabout, I was overtaken round the outside by a guy in another van who had a cigarette in the hand on the steering wheel and a can of Stella in the other hand!!

A quick call was made to the local constabulary detailing the reg number and description.

Seen the woman in the car next to me on the phone with a small dog in her lap.

Have been in a car with someone looking up a number on one phone and dialling it on another.

Saw the driver of an oncoming 1990s SL with the roof down raise both hands above the top of the windscreen to wave...

You do get to see some interesting things from the vantage point of a van or 4x4... I saw a woman driver being fingered by a chap (in the passenger seat) on the a90 in dundee once.

My favourite was when in the truck going down the m4 a car started to shadow me and I glanced over and she was rubbing some sort of lotion into her baps with them fully out

I once saw a man stopped in the outside lane having a piss against a bridge. There wasnt even a traffic jam when he stopped, there was when he finished though!

Here's a helpful tip for you.
Ask for an empty spare cup. Pour the fries into the cup and put the cup'o'fries into the cup holder.
Much easier to eat them, and the salt doesn't fall all over the car.

Of course, it helps if you have two cup holders, or if you order a bottle of water instead of a huge cup of crazy sugary fizzy stuff.

Oh, it also helps if you order your burger from Burger King. smile

Hope so, I've actually had several. As well as Subway's fish and chips and other things that can be eaten with one hand, but didn't want to admit because I'll get flamed and I'll have to think of the children!!

I've noticed there's a lot of people who get upset if they see a driver eating or drinking - I don't have a problem with this as long as it's something like an apple and a can of drink, especially if the car is an auto.

However, I'll draw the line at the woman I saw drinking from a proper china tea cup complete with china plate of toast on the passenger seat (seen from my motorbike - the best place to see this kind of thing).

In the past few months...

- girl reading a novel while doing about 75 down a very busy M621
- people having a shave (no real problem with this, tbh
- bloke on M62 in an E class Merc dawdling along on lane 3 yesterday - ended up sneaking up his inside. He was writing in a notebook on his steering wheel.

And the real silly one....
- people texting - overwhelming majority are young females (ie. 9/10 - it's almost the norm now to have a quick glance in the window and if it's a female there's a very good chance she's texting) but it's absolutely epidemic now on the M62 and getting silly - and it's got me so worried that I'm going to be stopping commuting by bike in the next week or so. I'm going to get killed. frown

Every other trucker in the US seemed to be reading a book or a newspaper when we drove from Kansas to Nevada

A guy is spotted driving on the freeway while reading a paper book, using an e-reader, AND talking on the phone
