Time For Tea? Lunatic Drifters In Boring Cars

Unhinged Arabs caught on video making front-wheel-drive saloons go insanely sideways should amuse you while you enjoy a cuppa

Ever wondered what it would take to make Hyundai, Honda and Toyota saloons anything other than execrably dull?

The answer, it appears, is a sandy stretch of Arabic tarmac, some unhinged drivers and some positively suicidal spectators.

This sort of front-wheel-drive drifting clip has been doing the rounds on the internetweb for a couple of years now, but this appears to be a whole new set of videos. And if you're anything like us it will quite literally make your jaw drop. Especially considering it all seems to be done on open public roads...

This goes to show even the dullest of cars can be fun. Just lay off public roads when doing those kind of tricks smile Oh, & please leave the guns at home, that's just wrong!

<hopes the UAE Youtube video of sandel skating gets posted>

That's what I was thinking. There's no way I could do that, even if I was idiotic enough to try. eek

Sitting in the back of a car, with a loaded AK-47, whilst it's being driven like that???

Big wide dusty road, big lardy car and weighty passengers, traction control, a bit of scando flick of the wheel, a bit of handbrake, moderate swerving and a lairy fishtail. Not even slightly impressive.

Personally, I'm quite glad that we can't.

I was trying to figure that out... at certain points it looks like the rear wheels are kicking up the dust, but it might just be a function of the high speed + selective handbraking, which might kick up dust in a way that would look like traction was occurring, even though it would be, in effect, reverse traction.

Excellent car control... not so sure about the sense of responsibility, though.

I guess if you work under the principle of InšāʾAllāh then that sort of driving hold no fear.

Incredible car control though - wonder how many cars he wrecked getting to that level though?

Yep - you can see smoke coming from the rear wheels under hard acceleration. I'd say it might be 'lightly tuned' as well. About 300hp stock mind you.

Damn right! There's a high percentage here that have no clue how to use a motorway, let alone stupidity like that. The only thing that would stop me "having a word" is their machine guns.
