WHy is it that nowadays all communication between a player and his club seems to be via the press/internet?
Hundreds of examples, the most obvious ones being the recent Luka Modric saga, or that of Joey Barton the tweeter but they are just the highest profile ones- everyone seems to do it
You have this utterly bizarre situation where a player has a whinge to the press and the manager answers them via the press.
What the giddy fk is that all about? They see each other literally every day. It's surreal

I think most players will only talk via agents to the clubs they represent, especially during the transfer windows.

Maybe using Modric as an example was slightly misleading.
Im talking about all the time and everyday whinges, not just transfer whinges
This was triggered by Van Der Vaart having a little whinge today lamenting the fact that Spurs didn't discuss his omission from Europe with him. Just an everyday example of this bizarre phenomina.
