I've got the S3/V8S style switches, (the slidy ones). I'm considering making a carbonfibre panel with different switches. Possibly allloy ones. HAs anyone got any suggestions where I can get some nice looking alloy switches?

Yep, but the S2 comes with rotary switches already. Are these compatible with the slidy switches of the S3?

Lee, can you supply some of these switches?

I've been chatting to Bridgdav about replacement switches and panel for the S3/V8S setup, but he's over at Le Mans ATM, and I'm not sure how much he's progressed the idea, although he has had a couple of switch panels made up.

He's back tomorrow IIRC, so he'll probably provide more detail then...

The rotary switches are quite hard to come by now, you might find some in a TVR breakers then I could modify/refurbish them using the new alloy parts

Cheers

P.S I think the Chimaera used the same switches for the dash illumination so the factory might still have some?

I'm Back...

'Tis true I have been looking into laying out a new switch panel for the S3. I have found a contact to make cheaper veneered panels and have a supplier for the metal plates...

I have been investigating sourcing switches...
A couple of sites...

www.s-v-c.co.uk/
www.vehicle-wiring-products.co.uk/VWPweb2000/switch-2/switch-2.html

LeMans took a bit of prescedent over the panel but I will sort something soon...

I will post details and pics when I have the info...

I've seen ally switches advertised in Demon Tweeks (they look like those on the new Marcos).

Alternatively, why not source Griff / Chim push switches...? - then you can use the Leven covers..

Thought it was your manifolds that were cracked

No, I thought it was the manifolds last time but it proved to be a hole in one of the down pipes. This time the exhaust was cracked around where the 2 pipes go into the oval exhaust section before entering the box. I welded it up and applied copius amounts of sealant.

So new system, it is.

I think a bit of trawling the net may yield a few options from various part suppliers - unfortunately you may have to resort to 'maxxer' sites.

Just need to spec them to fit the requirements of the existing switch panel. I don't think making a new panel to house different size/shape switches should be too difficult (depends on finish required).

I found these (www.motor-world.co.uk/outdoor_world/show_prod.php?prod_id=1381) and recon they could look quite good, especially with green LED to match existing dash illumination. They are available with various engraed labels. Would be OK for fog and driving light switch, but that still leaves fan and elec mirror ones!?

Those are the ones I've seen in Demon Tweeks... but you are right about the fan and elec mirror ones...
